I have to agree with everyone here. Bad PR move on the WTBTS legal department. Makes you wonder what the GB lawyers have for IQ's. I also agree that it won't make a big difference for the average Dub. It will just reinforce their persecution complex toward the end of these "last days".

i know this may offend some loyal posters out there, but i'd like to throw this out for discussion.. is there something inherently wrong with a religion just because it is organized?.
does the ex-jw community understand that all churches don't feel that their members must tow the party line?

That is how any organization or religion has developed over the years to get to where we are today. What is Charles Russell, Martin Luther or for that matter Jesus Christ didn't speak their minds? Where would we be today? All reformers that have lead up to progression in this 21 century were shit disturbers. If we are content to just sit on the sidelines and watch then we do not have a right to complain.

I was watching a few weeks ago Montel Williams and he said he was a Catholic but was very critical about the churches celibacy policy. Can you ever picture a Jdub doing the same thing? The Borg would have that person DF'd amd out on their asses so fast their heads would spin.

i received the 6/15/02 watchtower in the mail today.. for those that do not know, 2005 is the new predicted end date for this "system of things.".

2005 does not follow WT history as they usually like to give it a few more years to hype their predictions. I just recall the 1975 date was pushed for at least 10 years that I can recall. Although my older brother who remembers the late fifties and was not involved with the Jdubs from 1965 on. He tells me the push was on then re 1975 when he was growing up in the 50's. So on this basis the WT was already preparing the "flock" for the impending doomed end of this system. It culminated and peaked in about 1967 with the release of the "Truth" book and the 6 month study program. It was successful as the Dubs greatest growth was from 1967 to 1975. I can see when they figure people have forgotten the 1975 fiasco they will do it all over again. Like PT Barnum said "There is a sucker born every minute"...
